Overview

Trattoria Da Enzo al 29 beckons all those eager to savor the true essence of Roman cuisine. Nestled in the heart of the Trastevere neighborhood, this charming eatery promises an authentic dining experience amidst its casual, inviting ambiance. Wooden tables and chairs exude rustic charm, setting the stage for a memorable culinary journey. Warm smiles from the staff instantly make patrons feel at home, while reasonable prices ensure accessibility without compromising on quality. Tourists and locals alike flock to this beloved spot, drawn by its reputation for genuine flavors and hearty portions. Among the culinary treasures, the rigatoni pasta adorned with PGI guanciale, PDO pecorino cheese, and fresh tomato sauce reigns supreme as the iconic Amatriciana. Equally tantalizing is the carbonara, a symphony of rigatoni, guanciale, PDO pecorino, eggs, and freshly ground pepper. To commence the feast, the Jewish-style artichoke fried to perfection or the Trippa alla Romana, beef stomach simmered in tomato sauce with mint and pecorino, offer tantalizing beginnings. Beverage options are aplenty, with soft drinks, wines, and cocktails complementing the culinary delights. House-made beer or a classic Aperol Spritz stand ready to enhance the dining experience. And for the sweet finale, the Tiramisu alla Enzo beckons with its decadent layers of dark cocoa, savoiardo biscuit, and hazelnut-infused cream. Outdoor seating adds a delightful dimension, especially on sunny days, though patience may be required given the restaurant’s popularity. Yet, every minute spent waiting is richly rewarded with flavors that transport diners to the heart of Rome. In sum, Trattoria Da Enzo al 29 stands as a beacon for those craving an authentic taste of Roman gastronomy within a warm and welcoming setting.

Two painstaking hours endured for a subpar meal in a cramped establishment where waitstaff carelessly collided with patrons. Moreover, egregiously overpriced in contrast to local norms. Hygiene standards also raise doubts, but I’ll refrain from delving further. A mere tourist trap; Italians would fare better seeking out lesser-known yet superior options nearby.

we promptly stumbled upon this eatery, while on vacation. We were a party of 20 and we were quickly seated. Our food arrived in mins. The starters were incredible delightful, service prompt and excellent, prices reasonable: a locale to etch in memory.
